About the role

As an experienced DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing our increasingly complex Google Cloud Infrastructure. As we transition into a SaaS-first company, we are experiencing rapid growth in both our customer base and data volume. You will help us meet these growing demands by collaborating closely with our development team.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership and responsibility for our infrastructure.

  • Participating in various projects.

  • Designing and implementing scalable, secure, robust solutions with an eye for detail.

  • Educating and mentoring colleagues.

  • Approaching tasks with a positive yet critical attitude, contributing to a culture of professionalism.

Your expertise will guide us in making the right choices to support our ambitious growth.

Get the feelingย
We imagine a regular day would look like this: Start the morning with a cup of coffee, or whatever your routine is. First few hours you luckily donโ€™t have any meetings so you start by doing a Healthcheck of our Infrastructure. Everything seems to work fine, but you notice a higher than usual amount of load on one of the servers. You Slack Arno, the team lead. Following that you start working on a plan to make one of our data intensive projects more scalable.

After lunch, you dive into a collaborative session with our Lead Developer, discussing the metrics from last week's deployment and planning how to further optimize our CI/CD pipeline for upcoming features. By the end of the day, you and the team lead agree on a roadmap that includes experimenting with advanced monitoring tools to gain deeper insights into our system's performance. Following this you and the Team Leads go dominate a pub quiz.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, robust and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Develop and automate CI/CD pipelines for deploying and managing applications in cloud environments.

  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure high availability and performance of cloud services.

  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application architecture for cloud deployment.

  • Help roll out releases of our platform using images.

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and implement solutions to enhance system reliability.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in cloud architecture and DevOps methodologies.

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles and experience with related tools like Github, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
